Abderdeen pics here! Pics of our trip to Aberdeen, including - a military veterans' parade, a wedding in Castle Fraser, the odd bit of sightseeing, and a walk out through Old Aberdeen (with lovely old university buildings) to get to Bridge of Don, where the museum we aimed to visit was closed for the (undefined) season. In the wedding pics at castle, look carefully at the oil painting. Are those epaulettes or is a werewolf grabbing the guy by the shoulders?? :P Enjoy! | | Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 | | 9:50 am |
Aberdeen! pixiequeen10thk's wedding was great! And we had a fun time wandering around Aberdeen (including at least one very long walk outside it). Pics to follow when I have time. As a bonus, view from hotel window included Oystercatchers and ikkle fluffy chick, pottering around the flat office roof opposite! | | Monday, June 22nd, 2009 | | 10:00 am |
Busy weekend
That was a first! Parents visited for a bit longer than normal, so had time for some quiet days out sorta stuff - took Mum to Spinners' Guild and got her to learn basic hand spindle spinning. Dad took himself to Brooklands Museum and enjoyed it a lot. Yesterday we walked for ~3 hrs in Send area, and surprised then by having my brother & girlfriend turn up at the pub for lunch. Oh and did I mention, this was their first "epic" post-retirement trip, having cycled to Woking from Bristol! They are on the way back now. | | Friday, June 19th, 2009 | | 12:16 pm |

Colours!
I did a lot of silly wool dyeing stuff at the weekend - thought I would share here as I know a lot of you find colours / textures of interest... ( pretties under the cut ) | | Sunday, June 7th, 2009 | | 10:02 pm |
Weekend stuff pics
Despite the weekend being a bit rainy and not as warm as it has been, we made several expeditions out of the house - here's some pics :) Shamley Green - helping out countesszero collect for the Surrey Air Ambulance at a village fair (marred only by nasty local posh brats waterbombing us while we dismantled the stall / tent after. Grrr.. set the event organiser on them, though..) Forest Ride, a nature reserve with lots of orchids! Am rather pleased with how my little camera coped with flower closeups :) | | Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 | | 6:27 pm |
More Tour pics Pics updated! to include a little of the actual event including a little video clip of them zipping round the corner just in front of "Toys R Us". Will have to watch it on ITV4 at 7pm today to see if I got filmed at all ;) | | Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 | | 2:07 pm |
Tour Series
Pics from the cycling event in Woking today (hopefully I should find time to watch a little of the actual event before gaming, as the thing proper doesn't start til 7!) Pics here, including BMX tricks, and the odd vintage cycle or Sinclair C5 here or there! | | 9:18 am |

Bench plaques and farmers
Strange stuff for the day! (I like The Metro, for pointing out such things..) The highly unlikely Croy Devenish-Phibbs site (alledgedly a 102-year-old collecting family history through implausible bench plaques - see gallery. All highly unlikely but funny). Also the more troubling Burpham Court Farm story about the farmer poisioning himself due to eviction threats. I got a load of wool for spinning there, last year, and we spoke to him about his goats and battles with the local water authority. All a bit strange, really. | | Thursday, May 28th, 2009 | | 9:13 am |

Busy weekend
Spent the weekend alternating between a mad tidyup of old paperwork (still unfinished..) and washing a lovely Southdown / Texel cross sheep fleece (from a work colleague of countesszero :) ) In both cases, tiring but with a good end result! Yesterday, went to the Bank Holiday Surrey County Show - agricultural show / event thingy. Pics to follow, lots of stalls, food, cute animals, also saw a New Zealand shepherd / shearer at work and demonstrating different sheep breeds, with full amusing commentary. Both got a bit frazzled from heat, sun and sheer size of event / number of people! Ended the loong weekend by watching some "Lie To Me" with forbiddendanish and eating at Wagamama's. | | Friday, May 22nd, 2009 | | 9:51 am |

Eurovision and films
observations from weekend: * Eurovision - far better than expected! (Graham Norton wasn't as awful as imagined) * Woking now has a giant wooden pegasus (carved out of a tree) by Brewery Road Carpark - shall takes later * Starship Troopers 3 is rather good, DOOM is OK, Twilight is as bad as expected but in an oddly hilarious way if you create Sarcasm over the top as you watch it Thanks to all the weekend HonHoi partygoers, it was fun! | | Friday, May 8th, 2009 | | 6:40 pm |
Experiments in crochet
Had been considering constructing a shawl of some sort for ages, then realised a knitted one would be a lot of work. So did something in rather chunky crochet to see if it works - am tempted to stash this in a drawer at work, for occasions it's a bit chilly! ( pics under cut ) |
