Played at a gig!
Very good evening, yesterday. Our ukelele group UkeJam (we are not a cult, apparently..) was one of the warmup acts for Mr B Gentleman Rhymer at the Boileroom. Some pics here, many thanks to ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=92.1) blue_sun_scribe for braving the heat and crowd to take pics of the performance. You can't see us we were too far back - 39 of the group onstage! Oh and we met adelheid there which was a nice surprise. |

Whedon fan-squee!
The Metro has a 2-page Joss Whedon interview in it today, because Cabin in the Woods is released today :) (And not long to The Avengers). Given the interview is states he's staying in Covent Garden, any fans planning to stake out the movie premiere site to catch a glimpse of him? |

Eastercon!
Eastercon was really great! (As guest Paul Cornell pointed out, the best one ever). Pics to follow of people doing silly things to the Game of Thrones actual throne. Had to leave earlyish Monday to get back for uke practice in Guildford - but that felt like being at a convention anyway ;) |

Cold weather - migrant birds!
Weekend snow was good for several reasons: Defrosted freezer (put stuff outside) *Mostly* managed to tidy understairs Cupboard of Doom And - due to the cold, we saw some birds that we'd not seen on our property before. Redwings on the ivy in the front garden, and a blackcap in the back garden :) As a bonus, Wheatsheaf Common has a collection of the muddiest, mot pathetic "snowmen" ever... |

Further weekendness - ribbon and the Blue Blighter
Weekend continued to be good! We walked to Hobbycraft along the towpath - and saw a kingfisher on both halves of the walk, which was rather amazing. Hobbycraft trip was successful (as I now have a very small pony with sufficient oversized ribbon to make her appearance match that in the TV show a bit better). Asda wasn't bad, as ingaborg says - can confirm their Mozarella is yummy! Finished off the day by visiting forbiddendanish and watching Megamind and then Attack the Block (essentially "chavs vs aliens"). |

A good weekend so far!
A good weekend! Went to see theatre version of "Neverwhere" in Reading with masterofapath, lemming_man and omylouse. Very very good, they had very good actors and a lot of them (23 I counted), brilliant performances including stage fighting where needed (especially the quarterstaff stuff). Also I got the last pony of a set I wanted to complete, most chuffed!  After weeks of hunting stuff down on ebay - this one (Fluttershy) is the only mini one of the "mane six" you can't buy in the UK... And most of the auctions are timed to end in the early hours of the morning to appeal to buyers in the States. I eventually got this one just because it ended in the afternoon on a weekday :S |
